Let your student mentors come alongside your 6th graders to help guide them through their first year. Taking on "real conversations", they create powerful connections that provide a voice when mentees feel unheard or alone.
Your Mentors can inspire their mentees to be their best selves and do their best work daily. Connections can focus on academic support, making healthy choices, and current cultural topics that students deal with everyday. After experiencing it for themselves, mentors recognize that activities are just vehicles to building relationships that can shift personal and academic change.

Mentors, executives, and staff advisors each have their own collection of training and coaching instructional videos, quizzes and reflections.
Mentees and advisories also have assessments and resources that help keep track of their personal growth. With quizzes to track skill growth, our online academy works seamlessly with our train the trainer structure.

Our focus is to expand the leadership capacity of your school by training a new, untraditional cross section of students that are selected with equity and diversity.
There are 3 roles in our system and each layer has their own kick off training for success:

2. Executive Mentors
Training the entire team helps transition students into their role and teach them the core skills they need to sustain themselves throughout the school year. Learning our training model, M2M facilitation structure, and accessing their online training profiles are just a few of the components. Help your team gain, retain, and reciprocate this for every mentee in your school.
spring transitions & orientation
Imagine working with your incoming 6th graders before their 5th grade summer begins. Plan to do more than an evening parent event! Schools love the spring transition system made up of a series of visits and events. This process will ease anxiety, squelch myths, and build a confident expectation for your school.
Let your incoming students learn from experienced role models. Your students will pilot discussions about combating personal fears, establishing habits for a successful first year, and making choices that will impact their middle school experience.
Yearlong M2m (mentor to mentee)
Its not easy moving to a bigger building with 6 different teachers, 5-6 different expectations, 6 different classroom cultures. The awkward adolescent years are hard enough with all the internal and external changes happening. Our yearlong system and structure can help provide a consistent path on which they can stay connected, explore, and grow.
Creating connections builds powerful relationships and allows mentors to support areas in their mentees life that normally isn't shared with class mates. Topics range from things like its ok to be you, conflict resolution skills, and the importance of making right choices socially and academically.
With our yearlong program, every single mentee is assigned to a yearlong mentor on a 1:5 ratio. Mentors meet with them weekly, and monthly, facilitating lessons that focus on academics, social, and emotional needs.
