Our Unique Elementary School Program

Following a bottom up approach, Ignite taps into your most powerful resource—your students, to be part of the solution by giving them a voice in helping shape the character in your building! Ignite will partner with your school to garner this influence with an initiative that creates positive peer influence by having students lead students and model character traits.

We train your students to be your ‘Ambassadors of Character'. Imagine your students modeling positive character traits, empowered to be the change they wish to see and taking more ownership/responsibility in their own educational experience.

Ignite Methodology

Student Ambassadors are trained to visit classrooms each month and discuss a unique theme each month.
They are trained to use experiential activities and lead meaningful discussions. We use clips from popular movies like Shrek, Cars, Over the Hedge, Pirates of the Caribbean, and more, to illustrate, for example:

  • What ‘respect’ means

  • What ‘honor’ looks like

  • How ‘being responsible’ affects you and others, etc...

Ignite trains your Character Ambassadors initially and then every month, using the art of facilitation, in the following life skill areas

  • Leadership

  • Public Speaking

  • Relationship Building

  • Communications & Debriefing

  • Problem Solving

  • Goal Setting

  • Creative processing

Ignite also uses regular feedback from students, staff and classroom teachers to enhance student training each month for maximum impact. You can choose from an initial 3 month initiative or a ‘yearlong’ 7 month initiative. Ignite can customize the character implementation initiative for your school.

It is fun to have the chance to teach other students, but I love being a leader at my school. I have really seen other students improve and grow as character ambassadors.
— Ignite Executive Ambassador, Sara, 6th Grade, Tucson, AZ
Ignite Character has a very positive impact on my class! The Ambassadors use great questioning techniques and I am impressed with their “wait time” for the students to answer. They are very polite when they lead my class!

Ignite gives me a chance to improve my leadership skills and be a role model.
