- Tapping into your building's biggest resource, your students, Ignite
works with your staff and students to implement a Student-to-student
Mentoring program for the incoming class. Our approach is to customize
and support your building's direction and goals. The appointed student
mentors are given over 15 hours of training on personal effectiveness,
communication and listening skills and the art of facilitation before
ever meeting their incoming class team...the mentees. The monthly themes
follow the flow of growth an incoming student experiences during their
year of transition.
- Mentors form learning communities with the mentees assuring the focus
and topics are in support of those widely identified as most critical to
students as they enter a new learning environment. Your Ignite Coach works
all year with student mentors and staff to guide the building towards
sustainable results. The program focuses on both academic and social
connections supporting the big picture for the incoming students.
- Although it takes up to three years for true culture change to
become wide-spread, your faculty and students will experience rewards
within a semester. Depending on selected target goals of the initiative,
documented changes should be identified within the first year.
